As the country's third biggest airport, Malmo Sturup serves a variety of domestic Swedish cities, as well as handling charter flights to EU destinations such Hungary and the United Kingdom.
Located on the far south-eastern side of Malmo and close to both Genarp and Klagerup, Sturup Airport is also particularly near to Copenhagen International Airport (CPH), which is a mere 55 km / 34 miles away. A number of low-cost carriers operate here from its single terminal building.

Malmo Sturup Airport stands close to both the 108 and E65 roads, which allow easy access to the complex. Hotel shuttles are the main transport option for many arriving passengers, while regular, speedy and efficient coach services travel to Malmo, Lund and beyond. Coaches run to central Copenhagen twice daily and this journey lasts less than one hour.
Those travelling from Malmo Sturup Airport to Denmark will find it simplest to hire a car and head over the Öresunds Bridge, following the relevant signs along the way. Built then at a cost of around SEK130 million, Sturup Airport replaced Malmo's already established Bulltofta Airport in 1972. Modern passenger services and facilities were available from the very start and Sturup became the city's number one airport. Passenger numbers have continued to climb over the years and in 2000, Malmo Sturup International Airport served more than two million passengers, which was considered to be a major achievement at that time.
There are cashpoints and bureau de change (Forex) facilities in the main Domestic Terminal, as well as ample dining outlets, such as Coffeys, Hiusman or the 7-Eleven self-service outlet. Shopping facilities are good at Malmo Sturup Airport, with the main stores including the Parfym duty-free shop and the Pressbyran kiosk, which is located just before security.
A children's play area and baby-changing stations are also on hand, along with a number of conference rooms, which are available by prior arrangement and come complete with catering services. As Sweden's third-biggest city, Malmo is popular with visitors and lies within the southerly province of Scania. Malmo offers history dating back to the 17th century, when the city was actually part of Denmark. The city's main attractions include the Town Hall, or 'Radhuset' as it is known locally, and the Malmohus Castle, which is home to the City Museum, Natural History Museum, Aquarium and the Tropicarium. The Kommendanthuset military museum is also worthy of mention, as is the nearby Museum of Technology, or Teknik-Och Sjodfartsmuseet.
